Living It and Feeling It: Understanding and Supporting Behavioral Health in Disasters

Disasters and pandemics often lead to an increase in mental health crises. As a result of COVID-19, many communities and local public health agencies are finding that their mental health services are seeing a spike in usage. Our communities are not just living through the changes and challenges created by COVID-19; we are feeling them. We are having common reactions – fear, frustration, grief, loneliness – to a very abnormal situation. In this webinar hosted by the Colorado Resiliency Office with the Colorado Behavioral Health Council, the State Crisis Counseling Program and the National Institute for Human Resilience discusses strategies and resources communities can employ to meet this challenge. Attendees will get to hear about practices, programs and policies supporting disaster behavioral health in your community.
